MEET THE PLANO SENIOR WILDCAT FRESHMEN COACHES
JASON PRICE
9TH GRADE Head Coach / Athletics Coordinator AT VINES HS
Coach Price will be entering his 14th year in Plano and 24th year overall in education. After completing his service in the U.S. Army Coach Price completed his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Masters Degree in Health, Kinesiology and Sports Studies from Texas A&M University-Commerce. He then went on to spend his first 10 years of his educational career working at Texas A&M University-Commerce as a Coach, Assistant Athletic Director and an Instructor. Coach Price is currently the Athletic Coordinator at Vines High School and the Head 9th Grade Football Coach. He has two Daughters Emma (20) and Abby (18).
ALAN KLEIN
9th Grade assistant head coach / DEFENSIVE Coordinator / linebackers
Coach Klein is entering his 12th year coaching in Plano ISD. He graduated from the University of North Texas with a bachelor’s degree in Social Studies. Curently he is the Athletic Coordinator at Clark High School. Before that, he had the same role at Haggard Middle School for four years. Coach Klein and his wife of 14 years (Amy) are both school teachers who have two kids Wyatt (8) and Kennedy (5). In our spare time we enjoy watching our kids play sports and even help coach their teams.
TOMMY TOMLIN

Coach Tomlin is entering his 3rd year of teaching and coaching with Plano ISD. He graduated North Garland HS in 2014 and is a graduate of the University of North Texas where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. He currently teaches biology at Clark High School and also coaches baseball in the spring. Coach Tomlin coaches the freshman tight ends and linebackers. During his senior year in high school, Coach Tomlin was scouted by the Texas Rangers organization but injured his shoulder. He pursued academics afterwards and was rewarded with multiple scholarships. He and his wife, Jamie, have set up roots in Plano where Jamie opened a veterinarian clinic in West Plano. They have one child, Aiden(2) and another on the way. In his spare time, Coach Tomlin enjoys outdoor activities, spending time with his family and friends, and traveling.
TYRELL MAUZY

Coach Mauzy is entering his 4th year coaching/teaching and this will be his second year at Clark HS. He graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science.
SAM WALLS
wide receivers
Coach Walls is entering his 6th year in education and coaching. He has spent all 5 years teaching and coaching at Vines high school. Coach Walls graduated from the University of North Texas in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in History. Coach Walls teaches special education at Vines high school. He also coaches the Plano JV2 baseball team in the spring.
GERRY BARNES
DEFENSIVE backs
Entering his 33rd year of Education and Coaching, this will be his 2nd year in Plano ISD. Coach Barnes was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He is a graduate of Grambling State University with a Bachelors in Psychology and Texas A&M-Commerce with a B.A. in Education. He also served in the United States Army as a Core Engineer. Coach Barnes previously coached in Garland, where he spent 17 years as the Head Boys Cross Country Coach and Assistant Boys Basketball Coach at South Garland High School. As Head Coach his Cross Country teams advanced to the Regional Finals 10 years and he assisted with the Boys Basketball team making multiple appearances into the Playoffs most notably the 6A Boys Basketball State Semifinals with Tyrese Maxey of the current Philadelphia 76’ers. Coach has three boys Isaiah(31), Nicholas(30), Timothy(26) and daughter Victoria(24). He also has 3 grandchildren, Keyan(7), Aiden(3) and Kaiden(1). He will be teaching at Vines High School and coaching Freshman Football and Basketball.
BILLY DELANEY

Coach Delaney is entering his 12 year teaching and coaching in Plano ISD. He grew up in the Dallas area before going on to Baylor University and earning his bachelors degree in Business Administration. Prior to Vines, Coach Delaney taught and coached at Wilson Middle School where he helped lead the Track and Field team to back to back City Championships the last 2 years. He and his Wife (Amy) are both teachers and have 2 wonderful kids, Lilly (13) and J.W. (11). In his free time, Coach Delaney enjoys camping, spending time with his family, and exercising. This year, Coach Delaney will be teaching Special Education at Vines High School as well as coaching the offensive line in Freshman Football and Track and Field.
JONATHAN HULETT

Entering his 10th year of coaching. Coach Hulett is entering his first year with the Plano wildcats. Coach Hulett came to Plano ISD from Dallas ISD. He is a proud graduate of Southwestern Assemblies of God University which is now known as Nelson University in Waxahachie, Texas, where he earned his bachelor's degree.
Coach Hulett began his coaching career as the defensive line coach at his alma mater, Southwestern Assemblies of God University, during his tenure, he played a significant role in leading the Lions to a conference championship. Following his success at SAGU, Coach Hulett moved to Frisco, Texas, where he coached varsity football and track at Legacy Christian Academy. Coach Hulett was a part of the 2002 Football State Championship team for The Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs.
